An update on our Tiger Adoption

The camera traps set by the WWF have recorded 13 tigers in the Khata Corridor – this is exciting news, it means not only have more young tigers made it through their first two years, but they are also now independent. The WWF’s work of protecting future generations of tiger families is working!

But efforts continue. The impact of climate change is having a huge effect on wildlife, the unusually hot and dry conditions have fuelled huge blazes across Nepal. Recently TigerTMS has examined our own carbon footprint in a bid to reduce our own impact on the world.

More hotels can save energy and reduce costs with automatic shut-off of power to guest rooms when not occupied.

TigerTMS and PPDS Change the IPTV Landscape for Hoteliers

TV is no longer just a box that plays programmes, it’s a medium that conveys much more since TigerTMS and PPDS have joined forces to bring the full potential of Philips professional displays to the hospitality sector.

Using the power of iLink, our middleware solution connects the PMS to provide offerings via the in room TV to enhance the guest experience, including personalised welcome messages in their language of choice, view bill, express check out, and to give that home-from home experience, it enables guests to sign into their personal streaming devices such as Netflix – secure in the knowledge their details are cleared when they check out.

With over 200 hotels in Europe using iLink to interface this TV solution to the Hotel PMS, this offering has undeniably become an indispensable part of the guest experience and we look forward to working with many more hoteliers so they too may provide the ultimate guest experience with their in-room TV offering.

CNN and TigerTMS join forces to offer unique solution to a deserving sector

TigerTMS has partnered with CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) to provide a Free Mobile Information Tool for Hospitality. AskMeTiger (askmetiger.com) is a mobile guest services solution that provides branded venue information to enhance guest engagement, simply by scanning a QR-code.

Based on iPortal – the platinum version of the leading mobile guest services offering, this entry level version is restricted with the number of features available and has no integration to offer the richer facilities such as F&B order and pay, speed dial to hotel departments, or automatic checkout.

AskMeTiger is aimed at smaller venues such as guest houses, smaller hotels, holiday homes and holiday parks etc – who do not require advanced features or integration.

An update on our Tiger Adoption

We’re pleased to report Khalika’s two youngsters are thriving, although camera footage shows Kalika has trouble with her front paw and is limping.  It’s likely the injury was sustained defending her cubs. She is otherwise healthy, and has done a fine job teaching her young to hunt.  Kalika’s cubs are around 18 months now, so should have grown their permanent canine teeth and catch their own prey.  At around two years old, they will leave Kalika to establish their own territories, perhaps in the Khata corridor or in the two protected areas it connects – Bardia National Park in Nepal and Katerniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in India.

2022 is the lunar year of the tiger, and marks 12 years since all 13 tiger range countries committed to doubling their wild tiger numbers.  This bold mission is known as TX2 and is one of the most ambitious conservation goals for a single species.  Through the WWF, steady progress is being made; in Nepal a recent tiger survey shows an estimated 235 wild tigers, nearly twice the number estimated in 2009.   Numbers are also increasing in Bhutan, China and India.  The WWF have made great progress, but there is still much to be done.  That is why TigerTMS is offering to adopt a tiger on behalf of every client who takes any of our software solutions between now and Easter.  It’s just one small way to give a little back to the conservation of this great planet of ours.

iPortal wins Guest Experience of Tomorrow Award!

We are proud to announce that TigerTMS is the Winner of the Guest Experience Of Tomorrow Award at Hotel360 for our mobile guest services solution, iPortal! Shaking off some hefty competition, CEO John Owen presented to the judges the benefits and advantages iPortal offers, and explained how it is reframing guest engagement for the industry.

John explains: “We are very happy to receive this award that recognises the innovation iPortal brings – it’s available on a competitive monthly subscription, it incurs NO development costs for the hotelier and NO App download by guests. Accessed easily via QR code, iPortal is easy to use, giving instant access to everything a guest needs before during and after their stay. We remove the necessity for hotels to provide printed material, and revenues increase through greater use of hotel amenities. iPortal is branded to the exact requirements of the property, and is created by the property using our self-use configurator, so no hefty development is required. iPortal is the next generation mobile guest solution able to do everything that an App can do – and more!!”.

Pandemic speeds up the growth of guest services technology

Whilst business travel remains low for many, the welcome demand of “Staycationers” has generated high occupancy and room rates. However, guests have set new demands on hoteliers that impact the decision of which hotel they select. New technology is an intrinsic factor in enabling Hoteliers to meet the revised Guest requirements and expectations. WWF Tiger Adoption

Our name is coincidental, but we are passionate about supporting efforts to stop the drastically declining population of tigers.  Since the beginning of the 20th century, the world has seen an approximate 95% reduction of these majestic creatures.  In conjunction with the WWF, we have adopted 35 Tigers in the Khata Corridor in Nepal, helping fund projects that work with local communities to monitor tiger movements, reduce poaching and help people to realise the benefits of living in close proximity to wild tigers.
